Naperville Challenge

The Naperville Challenge is a tournament hosted by the American Karate Association and MAT Action. While there will be an option to register directly at the tournament, we recommend filling out the forms online. Please note that online registration will take approximately 30 minutes. To speed things up, we have put together some detailed instructions below. To register,

1. Go to https://www.mataction.com/en/naperville-challenge
2. Register and make an account
3. After verifying your account, you will be directed back to the MAT Action website to create a profile
4. Fill everything out, and for the school and instructor information, please use the below:
   • •                        Instructor: “Laura Kemper”
     •                        School: “Kemper’s Academy of Martial Arts System”
5. For the “Rank Section,”
   • •                        Title: “NA”
     •                        Style: “American Taekwondo”
     •                        Rank: “Novice”
     •                        Date Awarded: (Please approximate)
     •                        School and Instructor information will be the same as the above
6. After your profile is finished, go to Events located on the left panel
7. Press “Add New Division” located at the bottom
8. Please register for the following divisions based on your age, (e.g., 8-9, or 10-11, 12-13, etc.):
   • •                        Traditional Forms Novice (M/F)
     •                        Traditional/Creative Weapons Novice (M/F)
     •                        Sparring Novice (M) or Sparring Novice (F)
9. Continue, review, and pay online.

Instructions for day of tournament:

• Please arrive at the venue between 9:15am and 9:30am to check out the ring, warm up, and any necessary last minute practice.
• There is no spectator fee. Feel free to come watch our students compete even if your kids are not competing.
